DX Converter Slag Online Detection System

Overview

This system is effective in slag operation at the time of the converter producing steel, to prevent slag into the molten steel in subsequent process, and which is an important tool to ensure the quality of molten steel. It can reduce the steel rephosphorization, resulfurization, and improve the yield of the alloy, reduce the inclusions in steel, improve steel cleanliness, and provide good conditions for molten steel. In addition, reducing the amount of slag is able to reduce the consumption of oxygen scavenger and alloy, prolong the life of ladle, and save production costs.

Advantages

1. Using image tracking algorithm to calculate steel flow muzzle velocity of the converter tapping hole in the light of the variables between frames of different images of slag location, to deal with the issue of contactless measurement of steel flow velocity of converter tapping hole.

2. Adopting jet orifice principle, and by using steel flow velocity of converter tapping hole, to calculate dynamic changes between the molten steel surface and the liquid level of converter tapping hole, and to achieve a dynamic estimate of the remaining steel liquid level in the converter.

Features

1. High resolution high speed infrared imaging system

Using high speed, high resolution focal plane imaging system, the image is clear, is beneficial for quantitative analysis, avoiding poor image quality by pyroelectric types of far infrared detectors which might negatively affect quantitative analysis.

2. Objective and accurate detection of slag

Test results do no depend on the system operating conditions by operators, which is to avoid identification error from human factor. The system identifies molten slag in the far infrared region. Within this range, the characteristic difference of molten slag is much greater than observations of human eyes in visible region. Thereby the test results are objective and accurate.

3. Accurate slag lift control

Introducing intelligent lift slag control unit, on the basis of accurate identification of slag, using the input parameters of steel flow muzzle velocity of converter tapping hole, steel liquid level within furnace, entrapment of slag vortex, tapping time, and change rate of slag contents, to achieve an accurate judgment of slag lift timing, promptly export alarm signals of slag and drive signals of slag.

4. Simple and effective human-computer interaction

The system provides real-time videos of steel streams for users watching, exhibits molten steel and slag with different colors, uses bar graphs to show instantaneous slag contents, and uses curve graphs to present variable conditions of historic slag contents. Users also can track historical records of slag tapping analysis.
